The WCSMY Summit 2025, held from January 3rd to 5th in a beautiful bungalow in Shah Alam, brought together 55 passionate cosplayers from Malaysia and the Philippines for an intense and inspiring three-day event.

With a focus on sharing, learning, and networking, the summit featured workshops, panels, and insights from top cosplay icons like Team Cendol, Team Manboobs, and Emily Wallin-Kale, the WCS USA 2023 representative. Participants gained invaluable skills and inspiration to elevate their craft and prepare for the global stage.

ANGEL & FRIENDS IS BACK!

The Angel & Friends Online Special Event was a standout of the WCSMY Summit 2025, featuring a virtual call-in from Japanese WCS legends PAINS, Tatsumi Inui, Mame Mayo, and Mio Mio. Their insights into teamwork, creativity, and camaraderie inspired attendees to elevate their craft.

Hosted by Tea Kyandy and King Angel, the second segment spotlighted Philipines icons Jin, Ping2X, and King Ruysdi, who shared their journeys as WCS alumni. Their heartfelt stories of challenges and triumphs on the world stage showcased the passion and dedication that define cosplay success, motivating the audience to aim higher.

With a dazzling career in cosplay and a journey that took her to the global stage of the World Cosplay Summit, she is ready to share her stories, challenges, and triumphs with the Malaysian cosplay enthusiasts. This unique session is more than a meet-and-greet—it’s a bridge between continents, cultures, and creative minds, offering invaluable insights into the art and heart of cosplay.

The panel, moderated by the dynamic duo of Salty Katz and Alynn Lau, offered a captivating one-hour heart-to-heart discussion centered around the Philippines’ journey in the cosplay scene and their experiences at the prestigious World Cosplay Summit. Attendees were treated to an intimate look at the challenges, triumphs, and unique cultural influences that shaped the Philippine cosplay community’s global reputation. Through insightful anecdotes and inspiring stories, the session highlighted the dedication and passion of Filipino cosplayers, leaving the audience motivated and deeply connected to the art of cosplay.

He delved into the intricacies of contractual obligations when working with talent managers, emphasizing the importance of understanding agreements tied to job gigs and collaborations.

Richard also explored practical actions and options available to talents when navigating disputes or protecting their creative and professional rights. The session provided invaluable insights, equipping attendees with the knowledge to safeguard their interests while thriving in the dynamic world of talent management.
